As well as organised tours using our transport, why not try some of the other ways of seeing the sights?
Take a walk in the wadis close to the Lodge, or on a cool winter day climb to the top of Thoth Hill. The Theban hills around the Valley of the Kings offer excellent walks, with breathtaking views.
From Gezira, near the ferry you can hire bicycles, take a horse or camel ride around the local villages, or go on a donkey tour over the spectacular hills around Deir el Bahari.
If you feel particularly adventurous, you could also hire a quad bike, and drive out into the deserted wadis.
And for tranquility and relaxation, there is nothing better than a trip down the Nile in a felucca!
